Gantry milling machine is a kind of milling machine with gantry frame and horizontal long bed. The milling machine can use multiple milling cutters to process the surface at the same time, and the machining accuracy and production efficiency are relatively high. It is suitable for the plane and bevel of large-scale workpiece in batch and mass production. CNC gantry milling machine can also process space surface and some special parts

Form division According to whether the gantry is moving or not, it can be divided into gantry fixed worktable mobile type (about 90%) and gantry mobile type (also known as bridge type). The characteristics of bridge gantry milling are small floor area, large bearing capacity, gantry travel up to 20 meters, easy to process long or heavy workpiece. According to whether the beam moves on the column, it can be divided into moving beam type and fixed beam type; the beam moving on the elevated bed is called elevated type.

 

System division It is divided into common type and numerical control type. Some manufacturers have developed digital intelligent gantry milling with one key conversion between common milling and numerical control milling, which is more flexible and practical.
