Ordinary lathe is a horizontal lathe which can process various types of workpieces such as shaft, disc and ring. It is commonly used to process internal and external rotating surfaces, end faces and various internal and external threads of workpieces. It can also drill, ream, tap and knuckle with corresponding tools and accessories. Ordinary lathe is one of the most widely used lathes, accounting for about 65% of the total number of lathes. Because its spindle is placed horizontally, it is called horizontal lathe.

Characteristic

 

Headstock: also known as headstock, its main task is to transmit the rotation from the main motor to the feed box through a series of speed change mechanisms, so that the spindle can get the required different speeds of positive and negative steering. At the same time, the headstock divides part of the power to transmit the movement to the feed box. The medium spindle of headstock is the key part of lathe. The smooth operation of the spindle on the bearing directly affects the processing quality of the workpiece. Once the rotation accuracy of the spindle is reduced, the use value of the machine tool will be reduced

 

 

 

 

Feed box: also known as the tool box, the feed box is equipped with a speed change mechanism for feed movement. By adjusting the speed change mechanism, the required feed rate or pitch can be obtained, and the movement can be transmitted to the tool holder for cutting through the light bar or lead screw.
